About Me
My name is Janna. I am a psychotherapist working in private practice. I completed my Masters in Forensic Mental Health and Counseling from John Jay College - C.U.N.Y. in New York City and have my Mental Health Counseling Associate License (MC61468088).
My journey has led me to work with some of the most vulnerable among us: post-incarcerated individuals, high-needs populations, and those grappling with profound trauma. I support clients through grief and loss, as well as navigate daily life challenges such as relationships and identity. Working at a community mental health agency allowed me to build meaningful connections with a wide range of clients and carry this skill into private practice.
I utilize a psychoanalytic, anti-colonial, and intersectional-feminist lens to explore the unknown aspects of my clients’ lives. I focus on attachment styles and relational dynamics, as I believe the therapeutic relationship itself is essential, built on trust and effective communication. I am guided by a compassionate curiosity, striving to listen and engage with my clients, recognizing that each individual brings their own distinct perspective to the journey of growth and healing.
